Every commission begins with a story.
Your $200 Design Deposit reserves dedicated studio time to begin transforming yours into an original work of art. Together, we'll explore the imagery, symbolism, atmosphere, and composition that will make your painting uniquely your own—and quietly weave another story into the greater mythos of the Veilgarden.
The Design Deposit is non-refundable and included within the total investment of your completed painting. It is not an additional fee.
What Your Design Deposit Includes
Your commission begins with a collaborative design process including:
An initial conversation about your story and vision
Review and research of your references
Preliminary composition development
Rough digital sketch
Color palette and color study
Two rounds of major design revisions
A personalized Commission Proposal outlining the scope, investment, and anticipated timeline for your piece
This is the stage for exploration. Significant changes to composition, pose, imagery, symbolism, background elements, and color direction should be made before your design receives final approval.
Commission Investments
Original commissions are individually developed and priced according to scale and complexity. Current starting investments are:

[24”x36”] — starting at $1800
[48”x48”] — starting at $4600
[48”x60”] — starting at $5800
Your $200 Design Deposit is included within the final investment shown above.
Unusually complex compositions, specialty materials, multiple subjects, framing, specialized freight, or other additions may affect the final investment. Any additional costs will be discussed with you before work begins.
Your Investment Journey
You will not be asked to pay the entire commission investment today.
Once your preliminary design is approved, the remaining investment is divided across two creative milestones:
Design Deposit — $200
Reserves your commission and begins development of your preliminary design.
First Studio Milestone (50%)
Due after design approval and before painting begins. Your commission then enters the studio and progresses toward your Midpoint Studio Preview.
Final Studio Milestone
Due after Midpoint approval and before final painting begins. Your piece then receives its final layers, details, and finishing work before the Grand Unveiling.
Your Design Deposit and all previous payments are credited toward the total commission investment.

We’ll begin with your story. Exploring the memories, imagery, symbolism, and feeling you’d like your painting to preserve. Together, we’ll establish the scale, scope, and creative direction for your commission. Use the form below to begin your Commission Journey.

Your non-refundable design deposit begins the creative process. I will develop a rough composition followed by a color study, giving us space to explore your palette and make significant changes before the final design is approved. Two rounds of major revisions are included at this stage.

Once the design is approved and your first milestone payment is received, your story begins taking form on canvas. Around the midpoint, we will pause for a private studio preview to confirm the composition and make subtle refinements to color, contrast, edges, and definition.

Following your midpoint approval and final payment, I will bring the painting through its final layers and details. Changes to the approved composition at this stage may require an additional design fee, always discussed with you before proceeding.

Once complete, your painting receives its finishing touches and is carefully prepared for its journey home. Domestic delivery and insurance can be added on, ready for your newest heirloom to take its place within your home — and within the Veilgarden.
Your original painting will arrive with a signed Certificate of Authenticity documenting the artwork's title, dimensions, medium, year of completion, and its place within the Veilgarden. This certificate serves as a record of provenance and should remain with the artwork throughout its lifetime.

Your original painting becomes yours to display, cherish, photograph, and share for personal use. Copyright and reproduction rights remain with CMC Fine Art, allowing the artwork to be photographed, exhibited, shared, or reproduced as part of the continuing Veilgarden collection.
Your personal story remains yours. Any private details or reference materials you do not wish to be shared can be identified before the creative process begins.
Commercial use or reproduction of the artwork requires separate written permission.

Of the Veilgarden
Even in the Veilgarden, old myths find new roots.
Persephone stands in the tender ache of return, called back to her mother, to spring, to blooming earth, yet still haunted by the quiet beauty of what she left behind. She misses not only the underworld itself, but the unexpected kindness of Hades, who in this telling is not a tyrant, but a misunderstood keeper of shadowed places.
Her sorrow is not born of captivity, but of change. To leave one realm is to grieve another. To return is not always to arrive unchanged.
This transformation shifts the fabric of the realm where the forgotten springs life and stars bloom worlds.
