Throughout the process, you'll receive opportunities to approve your design and review your painting at key creative milestones. Major compositional decisions are made during the design stage, while the Midpoint Studio Preview allows for subtle refinements as your painting takes form.
Once complete, your original will be carefully finished and prepared for its journey home with a signed Certificate of Authenticity documenting its provenance and place within the Veilgarden.

Commission Journey

Once we compile references and decide on a color palette together, you will receive a rough digital sketch of the composition. Here is where we will collaborate and align on your vision, giving us space to explore your palette and make significant changes before the final design is approved. Two rounds of major revisions are included at this stage.

You will receive a studio update of your piece. Background and initial color blocking layer will be presented digitally. At this stage, we’ll pause for a private studio preview to confirm the composition and make subtle refinements to color, contrast, edges, and definition.

Your piece is completed! You will receive a studio update of your piece for approval prior to shipping. Once approved, your collectible heirloom piece will be shipped out within a week.
Reserve Your Heirloom
Every commission begins with a story.
Your $200 Design Deposit reserves dedicated studio time to begin transforming yours into an original work of art. Together, we'll explore the imagery, symbolism, atmosphere, and composition that will make your painting uniquely your own—and quietly weave another story into the greater mythos of the Veilgarden.
The Design Deposit is non-refundable and included within the total investment of your completed painting. It is not an additional fee.
What Your Design Deposit Includes
Your commission begins with a collaborative design process including:
An initial conversation about your story and vision
Review and research of your references
Preliminary composition development
Rough digital sketch
Color palette and color study
Two rounds of major design revisions
A personalized Commission Proposal outlining the scope, investment, and anticipated timeline for your piece
This is the stage for exploration. Significant changes to composition, pose, imagery, symbolism, background elements, and color direction should be made before your design receives final approval.
Commission Investments
Original commissions are individually developed and priced according to scale and complexity. Current starting investments are:

Your $200 Design Deposit is included within the final investment shown above.
Unusually complex compositions, specialty materials, multiple subjects, framing, specialized freight, or other additions may affect the final investment. Any additional costs will be discussed with you before work begins.
Your Investment Journey
You will not be asked to pay the entire commission investment today.
Once your preliminary design is approved, the remaining investment is divided across two creative milestones:
Design Deposit — $200
Reserves your commission and begins development of your preliminary design.
First Studio Milestone (50%)
Due after design approval and before painting begins. Your commission then enters the studio and progresses toward your Midpoint Studio Preview.
Final Studio Milestone
Due after Midpoint approval and before final painting begins. Your piece then receives its final layers, details, and finishing work before the Grand Unveiling.
Your Design Deposit and all previous payments are credited toward the total commission investment.
