Juniper Hale

Transient Wanderer of the Bramblewhisker Forest

Juniper Hale arrived the way most humans do — accidentally, half-lost, and deeply unprepared.

She had wandered too far into the Bramblewhisker Forest after a long evening of mind-altering substances and poor planning. Somewhere along the way she trampled a ring of Leshy mushrooms, angered a few unseen residents of the underbrush, and very nearly wandered into places that do not return travelers.

Still, the forest did not swallow her.

Some say it was sheer luck. Others say it was stubborn human resilience and a genetic predisposition toward strange magic. But the older spirits of the Veilgarden suspect something else: the forest may simply like her.

Juniper survives the Bramblewhisker Forest the same way many transient souls survive the Veilgarden — through curiosity, grit, and the occasional unseen hand redirecting her path when she gets too close to danger.

One might wonder if the forest is simply fond of her.

Or perhaps she was always meant to wander into the Veilgarden —
that quiet place between worlds where the forgotten springs life and stars bloom worlds.
